Katrien Vermiere: Der Kreislauf

During the summer months the MSK pays tribute to former director Robert Hoozee (1949-2012). The tribute exhibition gives an overview of the many masterpieces that he acquired between 1982 and 2012, from James Ensor, Fernand Khnopff, George Minne, Félicien Rops and Spilliaert, to George Grosz, Oskar Kokoschka, and Max Ernst. Many of them well known, but also unknown that have never been shown. Because the exhibition brings much attention to drawing, line and texture, in parallel three invited artists, Andrea Bianconi (Italy), Ricardo Lanzarini (Uruguay) and Mark Licari (USA), will create monumental wall drawings, installations and youth dedicated workshops with focus on corporate signs. Finally, the summer season gets extra color by the Belgian museum premiere of Der Kreislauf a video by Katrien Vermeire on the sale of paper flowers by children on the beach.
